Proven Contracting is proud to serve Holiday City and Silver Ridge, two communities for adults 55 or older. There’s plenty to do in these two communities, which all have their own clubhouses and many outdoor pools between them. Busses provide transportation to and from Holiday City, Silver Ridge, and nearby destinations, allowing passengers to see many roofs installed by Proven Roofing. Let us show you around!
Holiday City and Silver Ridge are retirement communities where you have to be at least 55 years of age to own property and participate in community activities. They are both found within Berkeley Township in Ocean County, NJ. In the neighboring area, you’ll find strip malls, a mini-mall, doctor’s offices, restaurants, banks, a hospital, and more in the neighboring areaYou’ll.
Holiday City has five communities, each of which has its own homeowners association (HOA) and amenities.
Every community in Holiday City has its own clubhouse and outdoor pool. All residents are allowed within the clubhouses of the various Holiday City communities. This gains residents access to a ceramics room, arts and crafts room, woodworking shop, card games, billiards, a library, a kitchen, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, bocce ball, and tennis courts.
Silver Ridge has four communities, which also have their own HOAs and amenities.
Only the Westerly clubhouse has an outdoor swimming pool, while only the Silver Ridge Park West has a shuffleboard and bocce ball. Each clubhouse has a meeting room, a hobby room, and a library.
The construction of Holiday City’s five communities ranged from 1969 to 1996, while Silver Ridge was built from 1968 to 1986. Since both of these are unincorporated communities, they were never really “founded.” They’re parts of Berkeley Township, NJ.
Between the nine communities, there are almost 16,000 homes. Holiday City has over 20 different models of homes! All of them are single-story homes without basements to reduce the need for climbing stairs. Most homes are two bedrooms with one or two bathrooms and an attached one two-car garage (depending on which of the communities you live in).
In the time since Holiday City and Silver Ridge were built, roofing technology has advanced so much that asphalt shingles with 30-year limited lifetime warranties have become obsolete. In fact, because Proven Contracting has Master Elite® certification from GAF, we’re able to offer roof repair with asphalt shingles with upwards of a 50-year limited lifetime warranty.
To offer such a warranty, you have to be Master Elite® certified by GAF, one of the largest manufacturers of roofing materials in North America. Proven Contracting is Master Elite® certified so that we can offer such a warranty.
The Lenape were the people who lived in what would later become much of New Jersey and the surrounding area. The Lenape were displaced by European colonialists in the 1700s and later pushed further west by the American Revolutionary War and the independence of the United States. Most Lenape were forcibly moved to present-day Oklahoma and neighboring areas in the 1800s, as ordered by the Indian Removal Act. At the time of the 2010 Census, nine people who identified as Native American lived in Holiday City, and only one person who identified as Native American lived in Silver Ridge.
According to the 2010 Census, Holiday City had:

Since Holiday City and Silver Ridge are in Berkeley Township, all three places share a climate. Berkeley scores a 7.4 out of 10 on the BestPlaces Comfort Index. On average, Berkeley gets 47 inches of rain, 15 inches of snow, and 206 sunny days. The July high is around 85° F, and the January low is 23°F.
If the temperature is 85 °F or greater or 32 °F or less, which does occasionally happen in Berkeley Township, then Proven Contracting mah not send out its crew for a job. Those aren’t the best temperature for roofing, so those conditions may make it more challenging to install a new roof, gutter project and even a risk to our crew’s safety.
If it’s too cold outside, an asphalt shingle can become brittle enough to break in a roofer’s hand; if it’s too hot outside, just stepping on an asphalt shingle could damage it. Additionally, a roof becomes a dangerous place to be if it’s too hot, even if it’s a flat roof, due to the risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Luckily, Berkeley Township has many days of ideal weather conditions perfect for roof installation. Homeowners also don’t have to worry about having the most energy-efficient roof color because Berkeley Township doesn’t get enough full days of sun for it to make a difference.
Since Holiday City and Silver Ridge are adult communities where all residents are over 55+, they do not need school districts.
New Jersey has a property tax rate of 2.42%, which is the highest in the country (the national average is 1.07%). The average property tax bill for Berkeley Township, where both Holiday City and Silver Ridge are found, was $4,322 in 2018. The sales tax for the state of NJ is 6.625%. According to the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center, New Jersey ranks as the 42nd most affordable state in the US out of 52 (including Washington DC and Puerto Rico).
Proven Contracts can see that, for many people, it can be expensive to live in New Jersey and, as a result, it can be tricky for a homeowner to have a savings account just for roof replacement. That’s why we’ve got a list of ways to pay for a roof with no money, one of the easiest of which is working with us to put together a financing plan that makes it possible for you to pay for your roofing project!
Both Silver Ridge and Holiday City have busses that take citizens to the different clubhouses and nearby areas.
One of the ways to identify a good roofing contractor is working with a local roofer who can provide you with nearby references and projects you can visit in person. Proven Contracting can do just that. We can also recommend things to do in other towns that we service.
Six Flags is the second-largest theme park on Earth, second only to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, of course it’s a huge tourist attraction in Jackson Township. You can see over 1,200 from six contingents at Six Flags Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure. And you can enjoy everything from wave pools and lazy rivers to tube slides and body slides at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. For the kids, Great Adventure has an entire area dedicated to Looney Tunes!
As far as rides go, Six Flags has some record holders! At 456 feet, Kingda Ka is the world’s tallest roller coaster, while Zumanjaro is the world’s tallest and fastest drop tower ride. But just you wait! Soon enough, Six Flags will have the Jersey Devil: the 13 stories tall, 3,000-foot long ride will hit speeds as high as 58 MPH. It will be the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest single rail ride coaster!
For a more intimate animal-related activity than Six Flags Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure, check out Howling Woods Farm in Jackson. This 501(c)(3) educational facility teaches visitors about wolves. And, if you make an appointment, your tour can include interacting with rescued wolfdog hybrids and northern breed canines, known as Spitz dogs (such as Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes).
Although the main entrance is located in Berkeley Township, Double Trouble State Park is found in Lacey Township. The park is an opportunity to explore the Pinelands National Reserve (AKA “the Pine Barrens”), an extensive ecosystem of wetlands and oak-pine forests.
The park also contains the Double Trouble Historical Village, which has 14 restored historic structures, including a cranberry sorting and packing house.
In addition to Double Trouble State Park, Lacey Township is home to Popcorn Park Zoo, a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds. The name of the zoo is derived from the box of popcorn that comes with the price of admission (the popcorn can be fed to some of the animals).
New Jersey is known for its shore, usually taking three forms: a town’s beach, a town’s boardwalk, and a town’s downtown. Spring Lake excels at all three. The two-mile boardwalk is commercial-free except for two snack stands. The boardwalk is also connected to the boardwalks of Belmar and Sea Girt, which are adjacent to Spring Lake. Downtown Spring Lake has restaurants, gift shops, bakeries, and more. And if you want a beach pass, it’s $10 daily.
If you go to Red Bank, you have your choice of seeing a show at two prominent regional theaters: The Count Basie Theater and The Two River Theater. The former is a stop for many touring musicians, comedians, theater companies, and more; the latter has been called one of the top 10 regional theaters in America by USA Today. So, you could enjoy a great dinner downtown, see a show, and then get some drinks!
Manasquan Inlet is a popular year-round destination for surfers because it directs and enlarges waves. Manasquan even hosts surfing competitions. Manasquan is also home to a one-mile concrete boardwalk, a beach, and a downtown with boutiques, eateries, gift shops, and more.
Lavallette is under one square mile in size, which means you can go swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, and then take a brief walk to go swimming in the Barnegat Bay. The whole town is so walkable that it’s basically entirely a downtown. That’s one of the fun things about NJ: visiting different towns and exploring them. It helps when they’re as walkable as Lavallette.
Right next to Point Pleasant is the boardwalk for the town of Point Pleasant Beach–AKA Jenkinson’s Boardwalk. There, you’ll find amusement games, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, Jenkinson’s Arcades, a funhouse, an amusement park, pizza places, ice cream parlors, boardwalk games, and a miniature golf course.
